About Us

My name is Robert Shortsleeve. I live in Ferrisburgh VT with my wife Pennilee. We have three children, Brittany, Shawna, and Tyler. I started to work in pest control in 1993. The first thing that I liked about the job was that I got to spend my days driving all around this beautiful state, meeting people, and helping them deal with not just phobias but structural and health problems. There is no better feeling than to help someone with a problem that has a negative impact on their home.

Over the next few years I learned as much as I could about the insects and rodents I had to deal with. Not just because they fascinated me but the more I understood their life cycle the more precise I could be at stopping them.

Then I ran into a problem. I was concerned about the environment and the health of the pets and loved ones of the people I helped. I needed to be in control of materials and procedures to insure that all issues were addressed as safe and as ecologically responsible as possible. Family First Pest Service was born.
